Golden Legends: Tales of Buried Treasure -A plethora of stories- gold treasure worldwide I gold prospected in Arizona 15 years. Am on a budget working on success mining. If you want gas money, cut corners to get to the claims. I began homemade equipment in 2008. First just looked at other folks' equipment; copied on my own. Took tape measure to a meeting or an outing & measured parts. I looked for plans on the Net. Posting commentary on free plans is offered. URLs are here too.

19th Century AZ Gold Prospecting Companions
You may be aware of all the pejoratives used in reference to donkeys. For instance, "He was an a_ _!"
Or, "She was dumber than a m_ _ e!" Well, I am not convinced the pejoratives are well-placed. From my readings, I figure the burro has something to be proud of and isn't quite as dull as reported. Here is my latest article about the Gold Prospector's Burro. https://hubpages.com/education/Indispensable-Companion-The-Gold-Prospectors-Burro Hope you enjoy it.

The Silver Mines of Tombstone, Arizona
You may know of Tombstone Arizona as the place where the OK Coral firefight occurred, and certainly everyone knows of Wyatt Earp, et al. But the town "Too tough to die" became because of silver. There are a number of old mines outside the town. You need to read the Wikipedia summary of its history. It is thorough and has lots of photographs.

Gold Prospecting in Arizona in the 1800's
In addition to thousands of abandoned gold mines, there are many legends of gold discovery, some that could be proven, some not. But once again, the subject is enticing. The history of modern Arizona seems to always begin with the search for precious metals. Here is another article about gold finds that may provide some enjoyment.

Encounters On a Hike to Find a Gold Mine
Here is another article fresh off the press. If you are into prospecting for gold, hiking to survey areas for possible gold mining activity may be part of your regimen. I do it often. And in Arizona, there are a ton of old mom and pop mines that provide an opportunity to go back in time. Besides evidence of a lot of work, there are frequently signs of the old activity. I find old mining equipment (of which there is a lot laying around in Arizona desert and highlands) a fascinating find. So here's a new piece that might provide some entertainment.

Piedmont, Minerals, Gold Ore
Here is a recent HubPro article at HubPages.com. It is one thing to know the best probability areas for finding placer gold near a creek. It is another thing to find property that is a contender for hiding gold. Finding a place that might hold gold is the subject of this article.
