Golden Legends: Tales of Buried Treasure -A plethora of stories- gold treasure worldwide I gold prospected in Arizona 15 years. Am on a budget working on success mining. If you want gas money, cut corners to get to the claims. I began homemade equipment in 2008. First just looked at other folks' equipment; copied on my own. Took tape measure to a meeting or an outing & measured parts. I looked for plans on the Net. Posting commentary on free plans is offered. URLs are here too.

Yukon Presents An Opportunity for Discovering Rather Rare Placer Fields and Upstream Hard Rock Gold
Digging deeper for placer gold can be profitable. Sometimes the term placer mining means just that. It is easy to disappear from view in a waterway digging for placer. But there is an article at Gold Investing News that is really interesting.
Because of the Yukon's location and geology, much of it has been sparsely explored. The sources of many of the placer gold fields are unknown. A lot of placer gold has been found, but there is a lot left to be discovered. The holy grail is the source of the placer. Annual production of placer gold in the area is around 100,000 troy ounces.
Read about the gold rush.

Goldandtreasure.com Advice on Vacuums
Here is some vacuum info from a prospectors website - some practical advice. As far as things to consider when purchasing or making a dry/wet vacuum, this is good. http://www.goldandtreasure.com/invision/index.php?/topic/168885-vacuum/
Gold Boom Towns In Gold Country: Stories of Ghosts in the Prospectors' Local Hotels
I have never given much credence to ghost stories. For the most part, I consider myself one to follow logic and science in dealing with with what I may not understand. However, I must admit, that with this particular website, and all of the haunted hotel stories in gold country, one starts to think again. Can all of these people be crazy? Perhaps they are all deluded, but you have to admit, there is room for a bit of reasoned questioning.
If anything, these little stories of the oddities in gold country hotels will provide a momentary aside in interest and also give some the willies. I stumbled across this website and share it in the interest of a distraction from the worldly stuff we see today on the news. Lord knows, we need a distraction.
To all of you prospectors for the shiny stuff, good luck - and remember, summer is here, so if you are in timber rattlesnake country or in the desert southwest and sidewinders and diamondbacks are your thing, wear your snake guards.

Bradshaw Mountain Arizona Placers: See the Gold Map
Pinterest
I discovered a site with some Arizona gold prospecting information. Scroll down the page just slightly. Of particular interest to me was a partial map of the Bradshaw mountains and publicly documented placer and lode gold locations. It won't be of much use except for a few, but if you are familiar with the Bradshaws in Yavapai County, AZ, this partial map might be helpful. What is useful is the location of the Crown King Mine and where the water flows from there. I pan on my club claims not far from this area. It is beautiful land and can make a picnic rather exciting!http://hhengineering.com/ARIZONAGOLD.htm

How He Built a Recirculating Sluice, by Mike Davis
If you want a detailed analysis of the project to build a recirculating sluice, here is the place to look
http://mdpub.com/sluice/
FInd 40 photos, drawings, schematics along with detailed instructions. This is by far the best site I have found on the subject of a home made recirculating sluice.
