A Hardier Scoop for the Metal Detector Treasure Prospector Using Tough Plastic Containers- a Golden Concept

Many prospectors, especially the kind with those contraptions called metal detectors, utilize scoops to gather up their treasure. If you are on the beach, what is better than having a scoop with a handle to scoop up sand where your target is located? Many of these scoops are commercially made, and surely you can find a lot of different ones by Googling. When hard dirt detecting (especially in the desert), you can loosen the soil with a miner's pick or other instrument and then use the scoop.
Many of you probably have made scoops out of milk cartons (the more frugal of you, that is, like me). They work well, but I have found a gal who has an interesting webpage offering a variety of cuts to other plastic kinds of bottles of the common variety that will make even more hardy scoops. Though her examples are not labeled, I can tell you that certain detergent bottles and drain cleaner bottles (just a couple examples) make a very stout scoop. This site is worth a gander for those of you seeking your fortune on a budget.
